Daily Dose | Three

Sunrise wasn’t very magnificent. Somber and heavy sky all day long. I like grumpy skies.

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” -J.R.R. Tolkien
Psalm and Proverb:
Promise of God:

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.” Isaiah 26:3

“Finally Brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and hear and seen in me–practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of you mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Just kidding…this is lastly (but not leastly)

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world–the desires on the flesh, and the desires of the eyes and the pride of life–is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17

Transformation of peace in the heart begins and is maintained by thought habits of Truth in the mind. It is obedience to take full responsibility of our thoughts. Locking eyes on His eyes, and seeking to know His thoughts. Philippians verse I shared gives us a great start. Matthew 5:3-12 also gives us plain and clean insight to that which our Savior holds dear.

This promise of peace is cooperative. We must obey.

“Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea…” Isaiah 48:18

Song: You Make Me Brave

“…Champion of Heaven You made a way for all to enter in.”

Gratitude: pools of sweat on my mat; evidence of life. Heart thumping, lungs drinking humid water air, life life life.

French Word: Vie ~ life

Memorization: Same as yesterday. Ponder, reflect, incubating truth for deep roots.

Sunset: none today. I slept through it!

Thought: Everything is worship.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

How can I eat to glorify God? How can folding laundry be an act of worship?

Vacuuming as praise to my Savior?

“Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthy masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for man, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23

Excellence in the mundane is the most exquisite worship.

“Bondservants, obey your earthy masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free.” Ephesians 6:5-8

Secret obedience, quiet worship, is noticed and praised.

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your right hand know what your left hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:4

“…and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:18

Worship is about glorifying God. With our lives. With all that I am, in word, deed and thought. Especially thoughts. Because your mind is the fertile soil from which habits and beliefs are sown. Thought seeds establish roots and grow and become us.

If you want to live obediently and righteously, you have to begin by thinking obediently and righteously.

Especially in the quiet, secret moments of our days, when human eyes are turned away.

Attitude of worship says, in everything, whatever it may be, “God, I love you enough that I desire to vacuum this rug as if it were laying in the den of You very own living room.”

Let us not forget…

“…every beast of the field is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.” Psalm 50:10

Everything we have is only because he gives.

The worship-full heart says “Father, I am truly thankful, full or thanks, for this rug, juice stained, torn, beaten worn run that I get the privilege to clean. To scrub the grubbiness of life lived off. A home to lay it in. A family to fill the home, noise and grime and peanut butter smudges. Thank you for all of these gifts.”

Joy for the little soles prints, clay and earth and footsteps.

Its simple.

Everything can be worship.

“The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!” Psalm 51:23

p.s. My favorite animal form yesterday’s drawing task.
