My Home Poem

beskow

Heartbeats
laughter
hugs
kisses;
cookie dough
smells
watercolors
fresh bread.
Sheet forts,
hide-n-seek,
Mr. Bubble Bubble baths;
dying eggs
valentines
carving pumpkins
gingerbread.
Hydrangeas,
dogwoods,
favorite climbing tree;
warm garden soil,
summer tomatoes,
zinnias
blackberries.
Fireflies,
summer nights,
Rollerblades,
Frogs;
Scooter
skinned knees,
bikes,
chalk.
Creeks
sticks
mossy carpets
woodland palace;
treasure box of
glittery rocks
fallen leaves,
acorns,
pressed pansies.
Stained with clay,
holy jeans
hand-me-down
tattered tees.
Missing socks,
tangled hair,
a game of tag,
stormy air.
Vivid dreams,
high expectations,
Star eyed view,
massive ambitions.
Innocent hopes,
Future unknown,
falling asleep
on the car ride home.
Daddys strong arms
carry me in,
tucked in my covers
goodnight with a kiss.
Stuffed animals
clothes
drawings
litter the floor.
Photographs
home videos
help me remember
The fonder things that are no more.
Warm
safe
loving
loud
chaotic
messy
home: all of the above;
